BiRD'19 - International Workshop on Behavior analysis and Recognition for knowledge Discovery - Welcome and Committees

Welcome Message from the General Chairs

We would like to welcome you to the International Workshop on Behavior analysis and Recognition for knowledge Discovery (BiRD 2019) in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications (PerCom 2019). BiRD workshop aims to provide a forum for presenting and discussing research on the recognition and understanding of behavior data collected from various sources, such as humans, animals, and automobiles, towards scientific discovery (e.g., ecology and medical science) and/or actual business applications (e.g., industry, sports, healthcare, and stockbreeding).

The BiRD Program Committee and the Chairs selected a total of 7 oral papers 8 poster papers from a pool of 17 submissions. The poster session mainly comprises presentations by biologists that focus on real data and discuss experience/limitations of conventional analysis methods applied to the data. The oral presentation session mainly comprises presentations related to conventional pervasive computing studies. Based on these presentations, BiRD provides a forum for discussion, debate, and collaboration focused on behavior data analysis.

We would like to thank to the members of the Technical Program Committee for their great efforts. We also thank the authors who selected this workshop as the venue for presenting their research contributions.

Welcome to BiRD 2019!
